Family Law Services

Litigation is a last resort but often necessary in complex and other cases. Whether utilizing the public courts or a private judge, we bring sound judgment with an appropriate aggressive edge to each of our client's unique family law situations. Even after litigation commences, the ultimate goal is an appropriate settlement, which often occurs after interim issues are resolved.

Settlement/Non-Litigation is the preferred resolution and the majority of cases settle through the use of various processes, most of which are described below.

Mediation involves a neutral, third party who attempts to arrange a settlement between the parties. In some cases, the parties may request that their attorneys attend some or all of the mediation sessions as additional support on complex issues.

Collaborative Law is a voluntary process which helps create an open and cooperative environment to reach a mutually beneficial settlement. It is designed to minimize conflict and requires a good faith effort from all parties to address everyone's issues with respect and consideration.

Private Judges are an attractive option for clients who require confidentiality or a more speedy trial process. Private Judges administer private trials, which most resemble court out of the many alternative dispute resolution proceedings, but offer a more efficient and effective process for the parties. Most parties prefer this less structured private judge option, to the more stressful public court litigation process.
